McCain picks Sarah Palin.

August 29, 2008

Whether this is a great choice remains yet to be seen.

I do find this interesting.  When Barack Hussein Obama decided he wanted to get into politics, he followed the footsteps of many before him and went to a very corrupt political machine to get his start.  Palin on the other hand, chose to fight corruption when she got into politics.  While I don’t think she’ll deliver the NOW votes or the union votes, she does have some great qualifications.  Some of these, we’ll get into in days to come.

She’s a pro life conservative, fiscally conservative, and willing to fight the machine if she sees it as a mistake.

For now, I like the pick and not because he’s the prettiest one we’ve ever seen on a presidential ticket.

Also, here’s something to think about.  How long has it been since a southerner has not  been on a ticket?

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has a plan.

August 20, 2008

Tupelo, MS

When Nancy Pelosi took over the U.S. House of Representatives gas was $2.50 a gallon. She had been a very vocal critic of President Bush’s lack of an effective energy policy and declared an energy policy to be one of her top priorities.

Earlier this month, over Republican objections, she shut down the House of Representatives and went on a month-long book selling tour. The Democrats, under Ms. Pelosi’s leadership, have repeatedly blocked efforts to formulate an energy bill, and we can all attest to how much the price of gasoline has increased under her leadership. Obama’s Communist Cover-up Continues
By Cliff Kincaid
August 18, 2008
In a surprising admission that could become a major scandal in the presidential race, Barack Obama’s 40-page so-called ‘rebuttal’ to Jerome Corsi’s book, The Obama Nation, acknowledges for the first time that the senator once had a personal relationship with identified Communist Party USA (CPUSA) member Frank Marshall Davis, a key high-level operative in a Soviet-sponsored network in Hawaii.
But the 40-page report, advertised and sold to the media as a refutation of Corsi’s ‘lies,’ doesn’t identify Davis as a hard-core communist and it dishonestly edits an article about Davis to eliminate references to his admitted involvement in CPUSA activities and make the black revolutionary writer and ‘poet’ look like a civil rights activist. Bill Brown weighs in on Barack Hussein Obama

August 11, 2008

editor’s note:  I checked this on snopes and couldn’t find anything refuting it.

Tupelo, MS

Bill Brown, is a highly respected retired member of the Billy Graham team. So, I
take his assessment of Obama very seriously and for that reason accept his challenge to
pass this on. I share his concern about the ‘rock star’ image Obama has and watch with growing concern at the celebrity status the media has foisted upon him. Hope this
e-mail informs you in a wise way.

The Obama Tidal Wave

We are witnessing a political phenomenon with Barack Obama of rare magnitude.
His speeches have inspired millions and yet most of his followers have no idea of what
he stands for except platitudes of ‘Change’ or that he says he will be a ‘Uniter’.

The power of speech from a charismatic person truly can be a powerful thing. Certainly Billy Graham had charisma and both his manner of speech and particularly the content changed millions.

On the extreme other hand, the charisma of Adolph Hitler inspired millions and the results were catastrophic. Barack Obama certainly is no Hitler or a Billy Graham, but
for many Americans out there feeling just like a surfer who might be ecstatic and euphoric while riding a tidal wave, the real story is what happens when it hits shore . Read more

Why do you enjoy politics and political discussions?

August 3, 2008

Tupelo, MS

Evidently you do since you’re here visiting.  It’s good to be involved whether you’re a conservative or a liberal.

Now first let me explain.  I’m no GOP hack.  There’s plenty about the party that I’m not happy with.  The lack of a vision comes to mind very quickly.  Right now, the party has no vision or leadership.  First and foremost, I’m a conservative.  You’ll notice I named my site “The Conservative View” and not “The Republican View”.   Conservatives believe in personal responsibility. The individual, not the government, is responsible for individual actions. All government should be limited and be representative of the people. We believe in free market economy, individual liberty, traditional values and morals, and a strong national military for defense. The role of the government is to protect the freedom of the people so that individuals can pursue their own goals and desires. The emphasis is on the state to solve its own problems and for the individual to solve his/her own problems. Read more

Senator Roger Wicker’s, (R-MS) campaign sends out a report

August 2, 2008

Tupelo, MS

editor’s note: I received this from Senator Wicker’s campaign and wanted to share it with you.

I wanted to make you aware of the fact that the Senate adjourned last night without having a vote on drilling. The Democratic leadership refused to allow a vote on this issue for a few reasons:

1. They know that 70% of the country (80% here in MS) is in favor of increasing domestic oil production, and they don’t want to be on the wrong side of that number.

2. They know that a number of Democratic senators would have voted with every GOP senator in supporting the bill – and the bill would have passed.

3. Finally, they knew Sen. Obama would have voted “no” on the bill, and they didn’t want him to have to cast that vote. Read more

“Obamanomics Is A Recipe For Recession”

July 29, 2008

“Yet despite his obvious general intelligence, and uplifting and motivational eloquence, Sen. Obama reveals this startling economic illiteracy in his policy proposals and economic pronouncements.” — Michael Boskin

“Obamanomics Is A Recipe For Recession”
By Michael J. Boskin
The Wall Street Journal
July 29, 2008

What if I told you that a prominent global political figure in recent months has proposed: abrogating key features of his government’s contracts with energy companies; unilaterally renegotiating his country’s international economic treaties; dramatically raising marginal tax rates on the “rich” to levels not seen in his country in three decades (which would make them among the highest in the world); and changing his country’s social insurance system into explicit welfare by severing the link between taxes and benefits? The Double Talker

New Gallup Poll shows Congress approval rating has dropped again.

July 18, 2008

Tupelo, MS

At an all time low, according to the latest Gallup Poll, Congress will most likely drop even further by sitting idly by and not voting to drill for more oil. Thanks Nancy (I never met a plastic surgeon I didn’t like) Pelosi.

Democrats Vote to Kill Jobs, Block Energy Production

July 18, 2008

As Energy Crisis Perpetuates, Democrats Pass Bill to Block Liquefied Natural Gas Facility

Washington- Democrats have now gone beyond just blocking future development of domestic energy sources, and yesterday passed a bill that will actually block the construction of a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility by placing the label “wild and scenic” to the lower Taunton River in Massachusetts. In so doing, Congressional Democrats would expose the area, which is teeming with the natural wonders of power plants and shipbuilding yards, to heavy-handed government regulations (House Roll Call 506) .

“With the U.S. House of Representatives scheduled today to vote on the designation of the lower Taunton River as part of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, shipbuilders and other businesses located on the banks of the waterway are anxiously watching. The designation … would hamper business they say, possibly even leading to closures.” (Fall River Herald News, July 15, 2008)

Democrats had an opportunity to amend the bill and ensure that energy infrastructure would not be banned in this area of the river, however Democrats stood in lock-step with their party leaders to pass this bill, despite the economic impact it would have on the Taunton River community (House Roll Call 506) .

Senator Barack Hussein Obama and Mr. Rezko

July 17, 2008

During his 12 years in politics, Sen. Barack Obama has received nearly three times more campaign cash from indicted businessman, Tony Rezko and his associates, than he has publicly acknowledged, the Chicago Sun-Times has found.

Seven months ago, Obama told the Sun-Times his “best estimate” was that Rezko raised “between $50,000 and $60,000″ during Obama’s political career.

However, Obama has collected at least $168,308 from Rezko and his circle. Additionally, Obama also has taken in an unknown amount of money from people who attended fund-raising events hosted by Rezko since the mid-1990s.

Everything you ever wanted to know about Obama and Rezko.

I was born in the fall of 1951. I remember when James Meredith enrolled at Ole Miss. I remember George Wallace standing on the steps of the University of Alabama. I remember the riots in Little Rock, AR when the school were integrated. I remember the first black students that came to my high school. I’m good friends with one of them today.

I’m not that old. I remember these things.

I remember seeing 3 restrooms at a service station. See,,, I even know what a service station was. There was a restroom for “white men”, “white women” and “colored”. Read more

JERUSALEM – The Palestinian Authority is hoping Sen. Barack Obama wins the presidential election in November and expects Obama to immediately set out to create a Palestinian state once he takes office, a top PA official said.

“We would like to see Obama elected. If he is elected, an agreement about the foundation of a Palestinian state (would be) reached,” PA Planning Minister Samir Abdullah told reporters in Tokyo this weekend.

Abdullah, who is the former head of the Palestinian Communist Party, said the PA expects Obama to win in November. He said once the Illinois senator takes office, “he will immediately study the Palestinian cause and will try to push it forward.” Read more

Lies of Barack Hussein Obama Part 1

June 20, 2008

Tupelo, MS

1995

In his memoir, Obama writes of one of the watershed moments of his racial awareness — time and again in remarkable detail. It is a story about a Life magazine article that influenced him. The report was about a black man who tried to bleach his skin white. When Obama was told no such article could be found in Life, he says “it might have been Ebony.

He is 9 years old, living in Indonesia, where he and his mother moved with her new husband, Lolo Soetoro, a few years earlier. One day while visiting his mother, who was working at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Obama passed time by looking through several issues of Life magazine. He came across an article that he later would describe as feeling like an “ambush attack.”

The article included photos of a black man who had destroyed his skin with powerful chemical lighteners that promised to make him white. Instead, the chemicals had peeled off much of his skin, leaving him sad and scarred, Obama recalled.

“I imagine other black children, then and now, undergoing similar moments of revelation,” Obama wrote of the magazine photos in “Dreams.”

Yet no such photo exists, according to historians at the magazine. No such photos, no such article. When asked about the discrepancy, Obama said in a recent interview, “It might have been an Ebony or it might have been … who knows what it was?” (At the request of the Tribune, archivists at Ebony searched their catalogue of past articles, none of which matched what Obama recalled.)

In fact, it is surprising, based on interviews with more than two dozen people who knew Obama during his nearly four years in Indonesia, that it would take a photograph in a magazine to make him conscious of the fact that some people might treat him differently in part because of the color of his skin.
