McCain picks Sarah Palin.

August 29, 2008

Whether this is a great choice remains yet to be seen.

I do find this interesting.  When Barack Hussein Obama decided he wanted to get into politics, he followed the footsteps of many before him and went to a very corrupt political machine to get his start.  Palin on the other hand, chose to fight corruption when she got into politics.  While I don’t think she’ll deliver the NOW votes or the union votes, she does have some great qualifications.  Some of these, we’ll get into in days to come.

She’s a pro life conservative, fiscally conservative, and willing to fight the machine if she sees it as a mistake.

For now, I like the pick and not because he’s the prettiest one we’ve ever seen on a presidential ticket.

Also, here’s something to think about.  How long has it been since a southerner has not  been on a ticket?

Just how twisted is our world?

A Lady Named Irena - a true story

There recently was a death of a 98 year old lady named Irena.

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto.

She had an ulterior motive…

She KNEW what the Nazi’s plans were for the Jews, (being German).

Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of her tool box she carried, and she carried in the back of her truck a Burlap sack, (for larger kids).

She also had a dog in the back, that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in, and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog, and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time and course of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2,500 kids/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi’s broke both her legs, and arms, and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out, and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it, and reunited the family.

Most of course had been gassed.

Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes, or adopted.

Last year Irena was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize….

She LOST.

Al Gore won, for doing a slide show on Global Warming.

A MODERN PARABLE

August 25, 2008

Tupelo, MS
A Japanese company ( Toyota ) and an American company (Ford) decided to
have a canoe
race on the Missouri River .  Both teams practiced long and hard to reach
their peak performance before the race.

On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile.
The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the
reason for the crushing defeat.  A management team made up of senior
management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action.

Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person
steering, while the American team had 8 people steering and 1 person
rowing.

Feeling a deeper study was in order, American management hired a
consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second
opinion.

They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat,
while not enough people were rowing.

Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent
another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team’s management structure was
totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering
superintendents, and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager.

They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1
person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder.  It was called
the ‘Rowing Team Quality First Program,’ with meetings, dinners, and
free pens for the rower.

There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes, and other equipment,
extra vacation days for practices and bonuses. The next year the Japanese
won by two miles. Humiliated, the American management laid off the rower
for poor performance, halted development of a new canoe, ! sold the
paddles, and canceled all capital investments for new equipment.

The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses and
the next year’s racing team was outsourced to India .

Sadly, The End.

Here’s something else to think about:
Ford has spent the last thirty years moving all its factories out of the
US , claiming they can’t make money paying American wages.

TOYOTA has spent the last thirty years building more than a dozen plants
inside the US . The last quarter’s results:

TOYOTA makes 4 billion in profits while Ford racked up 9 billion in
losses. Ford folks are still scratching their heads.

IF THIS WASN’T TRUE, IT MIGHT BE FUNNY.

What we have this election season would be funny if it were a movie plot.  On one hand we have a senator that’s running for president that is everything in the world that I’m against.  He’s a border line socialists and stands for very little that I have believed in all my adult life.  On the other hand, we have Illinois Senator and democratic candidate Barack Hussein Obama.  Read more

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has a plan.

August 20, 2008

Tupelo, MS

When Nancy Pelosi took over the U.S. House of Representatives gas was $2.50 a gallon. She had been a very vocal critic of President Bush’s lack of an effective energy policy and declared an energy policy to be one of her top priorities.

Earlier this month, over Republican objections, she shut down the House of Representatives and went on a month-long book selling tour. The Democrats, under Ms. Pelosi’s leadership, have repeatedly blocked efforts to formulate an energy bill, and we can all attest to how much the price of gasoline has increased under her leadership. Obama’s Communist Cover-up Continues
By Cliff Kincaid
August 18, 2008
In a surprising admission that could become a major scandal in the presidential race, Barack Obama’s 40-page so-called ‘rebuttal’ to Jerome Corsi’s book, The Obama Nation, acknowledges for the first time that the senator once had a personal relationship with identified Communist Party USA (CPUSA) member Frank Marshall Davis, a key high-level operative in a Soviet-sponsored network in Hawaii.
But the 40-page report, advertised and sold to the media as a refutation of Corsi’s ‘lies,’ doesn’t identify Davis as a hard-core communist and it dishonestly edits an article about Davis to eliminate references to his admitted involvement in CPUSA activities and make the black revolutionary writer and ‘poet’ look like a civil rights activist. Republicans Seek a Vote on Drilling-Democrats Continue to Vacation

August 12, 2008

Republican candidate for congress, Greg Davis addressing a group of local citizens, reaffirmed his disappointment in democrats for calling a halt to the 110st Congress, while heralding republicans for remaining and pushing for session to reconvene.

“This country is in the middle of an energy crisis and democrats vote to discontinue doing the business of the people and instead go on summer break,” Davis said. “Mississippi families are suffering from the high costs of fuel and Congressman Childers goes on vacation,” he continued. “Attending a campaign fundraiser in Tennessee at the Pickwick Lake Yacht Club appears to be more important to Childers than remaining in D.C. to fight for the people of Mississippi’s First District,” Davis surmised.

In Childers’ first 90 days on the job he voted to defeat bill after bill that would decrease dependency on foreign oil and provide relief at the pump. “Imagine what he would do if serving a full term in congress. It’s a frightening thought since he is already ignoring those he serves and is instead towing Nancy Pelosi’s party line. It appears the ‘progress before politics’ we heard time and time again from Childers during the campaign, were merely words,” Davis told the group.

Trying to paint himself as a moderate democrat will prove difficult in the days to come since Congressman Childers has voted straight Democratic Party line 87% of the time. In addition, Childers’ FEC report reveals he has accepted contributions from some of the most liberal members of congress including Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi.

Davis closed by saying, “ If I have the honor to serve as the United States Congressman from Mississippi’s First District, I will give a strong voice to the overwhelming majority of families whose voice, is currently nonexistent.”

Travis Childers MS-01 Congressman reminds me of an old movie called “I Led Two Lives”.

One Voice…Two Messages….
Our esteemed Congressman, Travis Childers, sent out to the households of the First Congressional District a Special Report on Energy. In this report Congressman Childers espouses that he is “working to provide immediate relief from high gas prices and long-term solutions to our energy crisis.” In this flier Childers lays out his Six Point Plan, two immediate Relief bullet points and four Long-term Solutions to our energy crisis.
The first point Congressman Childers six point plan is to stop speculation and price gouging. Propping up his vote for what has been called the “NOPEC” bill which threatened lawsuits against Middle Eastern Countries and Speculators for price Gouging. Let me take a moment to educate not only the United States Congress as well as any of you that think this was a smart idea. First and foremost, oil is traded on the free market and in free markets, you have cycles and the high price of oil is driven up on the free market simply because demand is high, not just in the United States, but all over the world and supply is low. Standard economics, high demand, low supply, equals higher prices. Period. Read more

Bill Brown weighs in on Barack Hussein Obama

Bill Brown, is a highly respected retired member of the Billy Graham team. So, I
take his assessment of Obama very seriously and for that reason accept his challenge to
pass this on. I share his concern about the ‘rock star’ image Obama has and watch with growing concern at the celebrity status the media has foisted upon him. Hope this

The Obama Tidal Wave

We are witnessing a political phenomenon with Barack Obama of rare magnitude.
His speeches have inspired millions and yet most of his followers have no idea of what
he stands for except platitudes of ‘Change’ or that he says he will be a ‘Uniter’.

The power of speech from a charismatic person truly can be a powerful thing. Certainly Billy Graham had charisma and both his manner of speech and particularly the content changed millions.

On the extreme other hand, the charisma of Adolph Hitler inspired millions and the results were catastrophic. Barack Obama certainly is no Hitler or a Billy Graham, but
for many Americans out there feeling just like a surfer who might be ecstatic and euphoric while riding a tidal wave, the real story is what happens when it hits shore . Read more

Mississippi U.S. Representative Travis Childers blocks “all of the above” energy plan.

August 5, 2008

He refuses to listen to voters asking for a real energy solution

Washington- Rep. Travis Childers (D-MS) joined arms this week with Democrat Party leaders to block a vote on the American Energy Act, which is an “all of the above” proposal to expand American exploration, promote energy efficiency and conservation and unleash the power of American innovation.

Childers and the Democrat-led Congress have adjourned every single week this summer without passing a single bill to reduce energy costs. And after three failed attempts to pass sham energy bills in order to provide political cover for vulnerable Democrats like Childers, the leader of the “most open Congress in history,” House Speaker Pelosi, is refusing to hold an open vote on energy bills. Greg Davis comments on the “do nothing” Congress

August 5, 2008

This morning, Greg Davis expressed his concern that the United States Congress has adjourned as the energy crisis rages on. While key democratic leaders vote to close session and head to their home states, Republican leaders are calling for a Special Session to convene as soon as possible.
Davis said, “I am disappointed, but not surprised, at the refusal of Nancy Pelosi and her fellow democrats to allow an “up or down” vote on the increase of domestic drilling and oil production.” “We’re paying more at the pump than ever before, and this increase, in most cases, is being passed on to the consumer. It seems when the going gets tough, congress goes on vacation”.
Davis released a simple but effective energy plan on July 17, 2008. This plan included removing restrictions on offshore drilling as well as other steps to increase domestic oil production. In addition, Davis supports temporarily suspending the federal gas tax which would provide immediate relief at the pump.
“The cries for help from the First District are falling on deaf ears as Congressman Childers refuses to support domestic offshore drilling efforts,” Davis stated. A recent Zogby Poll indicates some 74% support off shore drilling in U.S. coastal waters. Davis also stated, “It appears Childers is more concerned with the liberal agenda of the Democratic Party than the needs of the First District. We need someone in congress who truly represents the district, unlike Childers who continues to walk the party line”.
During his short time in D.C., Congressman Childers has demonstrated his loyalty to Speaker Pelosi and the democratic leadership while ignoring the needs of the First District of Mississippi by:

•Voting AGAINST debate on any measure that would reduce gas prices (H.R. 6056), (H.R.5540)
•Voting AGAINST oil exploration in ANWR (S. Con Res.70)
•Voting AGAINST the “No More Excuses Energy Act”, (H.R. 6003)

“Since being elected to congress in the May Special Election, Childers has voted with Nancy Pelosi and supported her efforts to continue dependence on foreign oil. In doing that, he has turned his back on the entire district when he had a real opportunity to help,” Davis said in closing.
