McCain ‘Proud’ of Service, Calls Wes Clark Comment ‘Unnecessary’
John McCain on Monday said he is proud of his military service and said recent critical comments by Barack Obama supporter Wes Clark were “unnecessary,” as Obama repudiated political attacks on military service and criticized a MoveOn.org newspaper ad that riled lawmakers last year.
A day earlier, Clark — a former NATO commander under President Clinton who now advises Obama — dismissed the value of McCain’s military record as a qualification for the presidency saying, “I don’t think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president.” Read more

The federal judiciary and its prosecutors delivered a humiliating blow on Friday to the enemies of integrity in the Mississippi state judiciary.
The sentencing of famed plaintiffs’ attorney Richard Scruggs and his former law firm associate, Sidney Backstrom, on charges of attempting to bribe a state circuit court judge, reverberates among all who think they can get away with anything because they are above the law. Read more
Travis Childers Rejects Alternative Energy Proposal
June 28, 2008
Democrats Take Political Cover behind Sham Legislation
Washington- Republicans have focused on enacting an “all of the above” alternative energy bill this week, but were blocked by Rep. Travis Childers (D-MS) and his Democrat colleagues, who refused to sign a discharge petition and voted against considering the bill. (House Roll Call 451 and 453).
After failing to address skyrocketing gas prices before the Independence Day holiday, Childers rejected a real energy solution that would increase production of alternative American energy, encourage more conservation and efficiency, and promote the use of alternative fuels. Instead, Democrats chose to insult the American people by offering sham bills that are already laws in order to seek political cover before heading back to their districts for a week-long vacation: Read more

PERRY/Questionable judgment
By BRIAN PERRY
Thursday, June 26, 2008
As we approach the June 27 sentencing date for Dickie Scruggs, leave it to the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) to remind us of his connections to Ronnie Musgrove. Their web page (www.musgrovefacts.com) hosts a litany of articles and attacks against the former governor. Yes, it is politics as usual; but, they provide us context in the campaign between Musgrove and Senator Roger Wicker.
Scruggs pleaded guilty to conspiring to bribe a Lafayette County circuit judge regarding $20 million in attorney fees. The federal prosecution also took down Scruggs’ son and law partner Zach Scruggs, attorneys Sidney Backstrom and Timothy Balducci, and former Mississippi State Auditor Steve Patterson.

OXFORD - A new 16-count indictment accuses a previously indicted Georgia company and three executives of knowing the Mississippi Beef Plant was doomed to fail and not telling anybody, federal court documents show today.
As in a May indictment, they are accused of submitting fraudulent invoices to recover political contributions to an unnamed and unindicted public official re-election campaign. They also are charged with conspiring and executing a scheme to obtain money by submitting invoices for work not performed and by fraudulently overstating and inflating costs associated with the plant construction. Barack Hussein Obama lies Part 3.
June 23, 2008
Consider Obama’s wild lie aka stirring tale for the audience in Selma, Alabama about how he had been conceived by his parents Barack Hussein Obama and Ann Dunham. They were, according to his lie, inspired by the fervor following the aftermath of the “Bloody Sunday” voting rights demonstration. “There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama”, he said, “because some folks were willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born. So don’t tell me I don’t have a claim on Selma, Alabama. Don’t tell me I’m not coming home to Selma, Alabama.”
Obama was born in 1961 and the Selma march occurred 4 years after in ‘65. The New York Times reported that when the very junior senator was about about the lie later that day, he said, “I meant the whole civil rights movement.”

stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him
he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting
communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s
government and install a communist government. Read more
Barack Hussein Obama lies Part 2
June 21, 2008
Barack Obama in 2003, talking to the AFL/CIO:
“I happen to be a proponent of single-payer universal healthcare coverage. That’s what I’d like to see.”
In January, 2008, Obama claimed in a nationally televised debate:
“I never said that we should try to go ahead and get single-payer.”
2004
In Obama’s famous DNC Convention speech, Obama says, “My father was a foreign student, born and raised in a small village in Kenya. He grew up herding goats, went to school in a tin-roof shack. His father — my grandfather — was a cook, a domestic servant to the British.”
Kezia, Obama Sr.’s first wife tells a story that puts Obama’s account to lie.
Kezia said: In 1955 Obama Sr. was 18 and working in an office in Nairobi, when he took Kezia from her family at the age of 16. Her father was furious.
“He did not like Obama. My father and brothers came to Nairobi to bring me back. They said I had to go back to school.
“When I wouldn’t, they said they would never speak to me again.
“Barack was also worried about what his father would think because I was so young, but he gave us his approval. Obama’s father (often described as poor) sent my mother and father 14 cows for my dowry.
Just how can a cook, a domestic servant to the British, provide a dowry of 14 cattle for Senior’s first wife? Also, Obama’s father had been working in a Nairobi office since the age 16, not herding goats.
As an aside, can you imagine if a Republican was running for president and it came out that his father had bought his first wife for 14 cows???!!!Just wow!!

Lies of Barack Hussein Obama Part 1
June 20, 2008
Tupelo, MS
1995
In his memoir, Obama writes of one of the watershed moments of his racial awareness — time and again in remarkable detail. It is a story about a Life magazine article that influenced him. The report was about a black man who tried to bleach his skin white. When Obama was told no such article could be found in Life, he says “it might have been Ebony.
He is 9 years old, living in Indonesia, where he and his mother moved with her new husband, Lolo Soetoro, a few years earlier. One day while visiting his mother, who was working at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Obama passed time by looking through several issues of Life magazine. He came across an article that he later would describe as feeling like an “ambush attack.”
The article included photos of a black man who had destroyed his skin with powerful chemical lighteners that promised to make him white. Instead, the chemicals had peeled off much of his skin, leaving him sad and scarred, Obama recalled.
“I imagine other black children, then and now, undergoing similar moments of revelation,” Obama wrote of the magazine photos in “Dreams.”
Yet no such photo exists, according to historians at the magazine. No such photos, no such article. When asked about the discrepancy, Obama said in a recent interview, “It might have been an Ebony or it might have been … who knows what it was?” (At the request of the Tribune, archivists at Ebony searched their catalogue of past articles, none of which matched what Obama recalled.)
In fact, it is surprising, based on interviews with more than two dozen people who knew Obama during his nearly four years in Indonesia, that it would take a photograph in a magazine to make him conscious of the fact that some people might treat him differently in part because of the color of his skin.
Analysis: Obama chose winning over his word

WASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama chose winning over his word.
The Democrat once made a conditional agreement to accept taxpayer money from the public financing system, and accompanying spending limits, if his Republican opponent did, too.
No more.
The chance to financially swamp John McCain — and maneuver for an enormous general election advantage — proved too great an allure.
Obama, a record-shattering fundraiser, reversed course Thursday and decided to forgo some $85 million so he could raise unlimited amounts of money and spend as much as he wants. Read more
